17th Training Course on “Immunodiagnostics for Infectious Diseases”

January 31 to February 5, 2010A hands-on short-term training course for Medical teachers, Clinical Lab Practitioners and Research & Post Graduate students on “Immunodiagnostics for Infectious Disease” will be held during January 31 to February 5, 2010 at Department of Biochemistry & JB Tropical Disease Research Centre, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Sevagram. Immunological Techniques: Dipstick and strip/plate based enzyme immunoassays (sandwich and indirect types), Immunofluorescence assay, CIEP and Double Diffusion; Preparation of antigen coated strips/sticks, antibody enzyme conjugates and FITC-conjugates. Molecular Biology Techniques: PCR amplification, Molecular Cloning, Expression and Purification of filarial recombinant proteins. Analytical Techniques: Salt precipitation, Dialysis, Ultramembrane filtration, SDSPAGE, Western Blotting, Gel filtration & lon-exchange chromatography techniques by standard and FPLC methods will be covered. There will be talks on immunodiagnostics and immunoprophylactic aspects of infectious diseases by eminent experts from other National Institutes and faculty of the centre during the training course.
